Chicago Hoops
September 9, 2008
Class of 2010 Crete-Monee standout Josh Humphrey, the younger brother of former Chicago Hales Franciscan star Matthew Humphrey (Oregon), is a junior to keep a close eye this coming high school season.
Humphrey, a 6'4" shooting guard, is a big time shooter with a smooth release who drops shots with range out beyond the three-point arc. Humphrey is a player with strong all-around skills on both ends of the floor.
Humphrey's father, Darryl Humphrey, told ChicagoHoops.com that he see's Josh as a better shooter than Matthew. Humphrey transferred back home to Crete-Monee this year after spending his first two years at Hales Franciscan.
Humphrey played strong throughout the month of July including a very strong effort at the Reebok Proving Grounds in Chicago, and strong performances at both the Chicago Summer Classic, and also in Orlando with the Illinois Wolverines.
This coming season, Humphrey will be one of the key players for head coach Rocky Hill, and Crete-Monee. Crete-Monee is set to surge with a strong contingent of young star players including Humphrey, Class of 2011 stars 5'11" Kentrell King and 6'3" Jamie Crockett, and Class of 2010 stars 6'4" Mario Redmond and 6'6" Ray Lester.
