Class of 2010 Crete-Monee star Josh Humphrey of the Illinois Wolves is a prospect who is on the rise, and is already opening some eyes this spring with his strong play on the basketball court. Humphrey rates as one of the top 2010 prospects in the state of Illinois.
Humphrey, a 6'4" shooting guard, is an intriguing combination of size, athleticism and basketball skill. Humphrey delivers with an ability to drill shots with range out beyond the three-point arc, and also his ability to score driving to the hole. Defensively, Humphrey has long arms and quick feet which gives him the tools to develop into a real problem for opponents.
Humphrey closed out his junior season at Crete-Monee in strong fashion by scoring 24 points, including 18 points in the second half in a 59-57 Sectional semifinal loss to Chicago Brooks.
Humphrey, who is the younger brother of Matthew Humphrey (Oregon), is enjoying his time thus far with the Illinois Wolves and notes, "I like the way that we play. It's a college style."
Things are changing quickly in the Illinois Class of 2010, and Humphrey is a prospect who is rising fast, and is set to make a major move forward when the ChicagoHoops.com Class of 2010 rankings are updated this week.
