Class Of 2010 Chicago Simeon Star Brandon Spearman Of The Illinois Warriors Seeing His Recruiting Stock Skyrocket With His Strong Play This Spring

Class of 2010 Chicago Simeon star Brandon Spearman of the Illinois Warriors is seeing his recruiting stock skyrocket with his strong play on the travel team circuit this spring. Spearman ranks as one of the top Class of 2010 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Spearman, a 6'3" guard/forward, is a strong and athletic player who plays with a high-motor on both ends of the basketball court. Spearman has continued to diversify his offensive game, and has impressed this spring with his improved ability to drill shots from behind the three-point arc, and his improved ability to attack the rim going left.

Spearman has long been a standout player defensively, and is a plus rebounder for his position. He brings a great deal of tenacity and toughness to the table, and has been instrumental in helping to lead the Warriors to titles at the Real Deal in the Rock, and the Nike Spring Showdown. He was once again very good this past weekend while helping to lead the Warriors to the championship game against All Ohio at the Spiece Run N' Slam in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Spearman noted to ChicagoHoops.com that he is working on being consistent each time he hits the floor. He is very pleased with his play thus far this spring, and has put in a good deal of work on his jump shot. Spearman also notes that a number of schools are in hot pursuit including Nevada, Dayton, Xavier and Illinois State. Iowa State has also long had an eye on Spearman after an impressive showing at their Elite Camp last year.

Spearman can expect to have a long line of schools actively tracking his every move during the July Evaluation Period when Division I coaches are once again back on the road.
