By ChicagoHoops.com - June 23, 2009

Jabari Parker

Class of 2013 Chicago Simeon star Jabari Parker of the Mac Irvin Fire has now received a scholarship offer from the University of Illinois. Parker rates as one of the top Class of 2013 basketball prospects in the country.

Parker, a 6'4" guard/forward, is a highly versatile talent who brings size, a highly advanced basketball IQ, and a tremendous amount of basketball skill to the table. Parker is capable of being plugged into pretty much any position on the basketball court, and truly excels with his high level of skill on the basketball court.

Parker is in the midst of a hectic month of June. Last week, Parker competed at the highly prestigious NBAPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Virginia. Parker is competing with his Chicago Simeon teammates at the University of Illinois Team Camp at Moody Bible Institute.

Parker, who is also a top student in the classroom, is part of a very strong Illinois Class of 2013 that also includes 6'7" Thomas Hamilton, Jr. (Chicago Whitney Young), and 6'7" Alex Foster (Chicago De La Salle).

Parker, 5'10" point guard Jaleni Neely, and 6'6" forward Stevie Taylor, a pair of Class of 2012 stars, combine to give Simeon a very strong core of outstanding elite young talent.

Parker's father, former NBA star Sonny Parker, confirmed the offer from Illinois.
