Spearman picks DaytonBY MICHAEL O'BRIEN -- Sun-Times News Group - July 17, 2009 According to Simeon coach Robert Smith, rising senior Brandon Spearman gave an oral commitment to Dayton on Friday. Spearman, a 6-3 guard, transferred to Simeon from Hales after his sophomore season and plays on the club circuit with Larry Butler's Illinois Warriors. "The biggest thing that jumps out in the summer was that he rose to a different level in terms of productivity," recruiting analyst Joe Henricksen said. "He has just now begun to find it as a player and understand how to be more assertive on the offensive end. He's always had the body, athleticism and strength." |
